Video of Bosnian Pyramid of the Moon 3 March 2007

A recent trip to the Bosnian Pyramid of the Moon shows some of the excavation work that was completed last summer. The work will get underwayagain in the spring. The footage shows local scenery during the drive up to the base of the pyramid and the pathways that have been constructed upto the excavation sites on the pyramid itself. Some of the stone pathways that have been revealed include symbols carved (large, small image )into the blocks, although the symbols have not been dated. The level of soil above the stone that has been cleared along these pathways is to the depth of around 1.5m, enabling an initial dating of the site the to several thousand years ago although accurate dating has yet to be confirmed. Much of the pyramid site is still covered in woodland. From the top of the hill, in the woods, you can see straight across to its 'sister pyramid', the Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun. Semir Osmanagic revisits Ancient sites 28 January 2007 Semir Osmanagic is traveling around the world for three months with a television crew from the Federal TV station in Bosnia and Herzegovina which is filming his book, Civilisations that existed before official history began , about ancient civilizations. Osmanagic has already visited Peru, Bolivia and the Virgin Islands and has further trips planned, including to Stonehenge in the UK.It was his research based on these ancient civilizations and a growing reputation as an explorer that led the local museum at Visoko to invite Osmanagic to visit the valley and its mysterious hill structures, now known as the Bosnian Valley of Pyramids.Osmanagic has a number of theories about ancient sites and believes that many of those identified around the world were built prior to their official dating. He argues, for example, that the lost City of Incas, Machu Pitchu, was built much earlier than historians believe.Although Machu Pitchu is dated to the Inca civilisation 700 years ago, Spanish chronicles of the XVI century said that Incas never had the tools, equipment nor the technology to build such structures. Osmanagic argues that several different civilizations built Machu Pitchu, the oldest one being the most sophisticated. His often controversial theories have included the dating of the structures in the Bosnian Valley of Pyramids to some 12000 thousand years ago, which traditional archaeologists believe is far too early for manmade structures like these to have been created.
